As a National Green Ribbon and Maryland Green School there are many conservation projects and activities we normally do at O.T.E.S.. While we can’t be at school doing green activities, there are things you can do from home. This page includes projects you can do around your home to conserve natural resources. As I learn of the ways we can remotely do activities that will assist in our Green Schools recertification, I will share them here. Let’s heal our planet together!
Cheap and Easy Worm Bin
Composting with red worms is great for home and classrooms. Kids like to care for the worms and treat them as a pet! It is a valuable hands-on teaching tool for lessons about food webs and waste management. Green Schools Home Conservation Activities
Although it may not be obvious, there’s a direct connection between your energy use and the environment. When you consume less power, you reduce the amount of toxic fumes released by power plants, conserve the earth’s natural resources and protect ecosystems from destruction. By taking steps to reduce your energy intake, you’ll contribute to a healthier and happier world.
