Welcome to O.T.E.S.’s virtual Nature Adventure Corner. The activities included here will help you get outside to explore and enjoy our natural world, either at your local park, in your yard, or along the sidewalks in your neighborhood. If it is challenging for you to get outside regularly, nature can be found simply looking out your window. Have fun discovering our natural world, but remember: use social distancing to stay safe while outside. Let’s get out and explore!

Becoming a Nature Detective
The Nature Journaling page includes an introduction to nature journaling, explaining the what and how of this activity. Also included, are posts with different written or video journaling prompts. The prompts can be used in any order or way you would like. Let your imagination sore, while you get up close with nature.
Exploring our
Natural World
If you are looking for a place where you can learn about our natural world and participate in activities that are enjoyable, sometimes challenging, and help to solve problems for nature, you have come to the right place. Each Nature Activity is centered around a natural science theme. Within you will find: introductory videos, google slide lessons, directions for projects, and links to resources. Enjoy them in any order or to whatever extent, the most important part is to get outside and have some fun!
Make Your Home Green
As a National Green Ribbon and Maryland Green School we have many projects and activities we normally do at OTES to do our part for conservation. While we can’t be at school doing green activities, there are things you can do from home. This page will include projects you can do around your home to conserve natural resources. As I learn of the ways we can remotely do activities that will assist in our Green Schools recertification, I will share them here. Let’s heal our planet together!

Show Off Your Amazing Discoveries
A virtual bulletin board of photos, poems, essays, and artwork that OTES students have created from and inspired by their experiences in nature. If you have something you'd like to share, please send your project, along with your name and a description, to OTESgreenschools@gmail.com. For photos and images of art, please send a JPG or PNG file. For written submissions, you can either paste the copy into your email or attach or link to a document.
Enjoy Fun Games and Mindfulness Activities
This is the place to go for playful, fun outdoor activities and games that allow you to play and relax with nature. Start your own mud pie bakery, build a shelter, do arts and crafts with nature. Play games pretending to be different critters. If you need to relax, play a nature video or do animal yoga.
